Incentives

Reasons to wake up in the morning:
1. Interesting quotes said in Sociology lecture.
2. Overhearing conversation snippets on the bus.
3. Smiling people who notice you despite their headphones.
4. The blueness of the sky as it contrasts the burnished gold of the foliage.
5. Ben's birthday.
6. That Just-Brushed Clean Feeling.
7. Food. Mmmm, food.
8. Poetry - to write it and to read it.
9. Reading titles of health-related brochures.
10. Dan.

Mood.

What is this mood?
Unable to focus,
Pensive.
My brain
Here, there
Everywhere,
Up down allaround.

I don't like being taken for granted.
My fingers are cold.
Shivers run through my body.
What is this anger?

"I prefer to lick my wounds
alone
and then come out with my heart
slightly harder than it was before."
Who is the girl who says these things?

I thought I left her in my betraying adolescence
but it seems she's followed me here

My cheeks are flushed
Her presence in me
makes the hair stand up on my arms,
the back of my neck

What is this emotion?

Post-Class Discussion Disorder

Glow-in-the-dark condoms + drunken boys = light-saber fights?
One wonders.
Sound effects?
Oh yes.

...why am I not doing some of my copious amounts of homework?
Hmmmmmmn.
Maybe because I'm bored with it.
Huh.

Ben Kweller. Wow.

Gallant

He'd save me if I was threatening to jump off a bridge.
...he'd CERTAINLY prevent me from falling out of bed. :D
And yet, he's so far away.
People ask, what can you do?
I answer, love one another.

They laugh, my friends, my acquaintances.
Cynical college students, all,
On the cusp of bitter adulthood, frustrated about one thing or another.

Love, some argue, doesn't exist.
It's nature's way of tricking us into reproducing,
Or society invented it,
And we keep doing it because Disney tells us to.
